Helicopter Landing Officer & Helicopter Refuelling Training
Aim
To provide personnel with the knowledge and skills necessary to coordinate helicopter operations and refuel helicopters taking into account all aspects of safety and the specific needs of aviation fuel.
Course Content – Landing Officer
• Describe the relevant regulations, Industry Guidelines, Codes of Practice and their application to Helideck activities
• Describe the roles of the HLO
• Knowledge of helicopter safety procedures
• Describe and understand offshore emergency response arrangements
• Supervise and prepare for helicopter landing and takeoff
• Refuel the helicopter and conduct fuel testing
• Describe offshore and onshore helicopter operations
• Effectively brief and secure passengers
• Conduct cargo/freight handling including compiling manifest documentation
• Describe the duties and functions of the helideck crew
• Transmit messages by radio and hand signals
• Understand and identify procedures for (DG) dangerous goods
• Supervise and prepare for Emergency landing
• Supervise and prepare for Helideck Emergencies
• Describe and understand helicopter flight procedures for search and rescue
• Describe and understand operational capabilities of various helicopters
Course Content – Helicopter Refuelling System Officer
• Learn how to safely supply helicopters offshore with clean and dry fuel
• Familiarise the user with the main components and characteristics of the system
• Understand world’s best practice, rules and regulations
• Understand the safety problems that may arise and contingencies that need to be in place
• Hands on learning with testing equipment props
• Understanding all the responsibilities of the Refuelling Operator in Safely delivering clean Jet A-1 Fuel
• Outline world’s best practice in log book entry procedures
Course Duration
Both courses are offered as individual one day programs or as a combined two day training program, qualifying your personnel as HELICOPTER LANDING & REFUELLING OFFICERS
