Full Emergency Management Course

Course Content

Day One:
• Brief Introduction to the course and registration
• Aims and Objectives for the 3 days
• Philosophy of Emergency Management
• Principle Elements of Emergency Management
• Roles and Responsibilities of personnel
• Introduction to the Simulator
• Exercise 1 – Accommodation (Intro, exercise and debrief)
• Debrief of Exercise 1

Day Two:
• Command, Control and Communications
• Exercise 2 - Gas Release (Intro, exercise and debrief)
• Exercise 3 – Below Decks Incident (Intro, exercise and debrief)
• Exercise 4 – Helicopter Hazards (Intro, exercise and debrief)

Day Three:
• Explanation of Stress (causes, symptoms and it’s impact)
• Discussion of Abandonment and Down Manning in a potential or actual vessel collision
• Exercise 5 – Vessel Collision (Intro, exercise and debrief)
• Exercise 6 – Riser / Turret (Intro, exercise and debrief)
• Exercise 7 – This exercise doesn’t involve pre-briefing. Designed to exercise personnel in managing an incident with the added confusion of no pre information of incident type or developments
• Final Exercise – This exercise is designed to bring together the learning points discussed over the last 3 days.
