The HLO training course will address initial training requirements, including emergency response for Offshore Helicopter Landing Officers. Successful completion of this course will demonstrate the achievement of a level of competence enabling the delegate to work as an offshore HLO, under the supervision of a competent HLO for further installation specific training and development.

Competency in relevant regulations, industry guidelines, Codes of Practice applicable to Helideck Ops
Competency in supervision and prep for Helo landing and take-off, understanding of on/off shore Helo ops
Competency in Helo safety procedures and supervision of Helideck emergencies
Competency in cargo/freight handling and related manifest documentation
Transmit messages by radio and hand signals, identify procedures for dangerous goods
